The beast is free

Sullivan Boo was released last night. Probably around the same time the hospital I work at was on fire. No one was hurt, but one of my strays was lost in the chaos. At least Sulley is free.

Reaching

Poor Sulley is so crazy since he's been locked up, he spends most of his day reaching through the gap under the door.

release

I have gotten to okay to release Sullivan Boo on Saturday. He will have to stay on medication for another week after he's let out, but that's it.

I am so excited!

Tired

I'm on the third week of 7am-4pm at work and I never did start sleeping steadily. And today we ran out of oil at home, so no hot shower this morning. SulleyBoo's ringworm is almost completely gone. The end of his confinement is in sight. The picture is of a white dove I brought from the hospital and released off the back deck after she had been rehabilitated.

SulleyBoo is getting so big!

He's almost six pounds now. When he came to the hospital on 6/6/08 he weighed 0.6lbs.

tired

It is only Wednesday and I'm exhausted. We had an absolutely insane number of surgeries at work yesterday including an emergency c-section on a chihuahua. I got to stimulate the puppies and clean their mouths and noses when they came out. Two boys. Gorgeous and feisty. And mom came through just fine.

And I'm up to six stray cats I'm taking care of at the hospital. They are all sweet or gorgeous and need good homes. If you're in eastern PA or Northeastern NJ think of www.wrightvet.com for adoptions.

Sulley and Strays

Sullivan started oral itraconazole on Saturday to treat his ringworm. With luck this will be the answer, as it is this is a very tough medication for his system so I'm cautiously optimistic.

In addition I have a meeting today to possibly update the stray policies and procedures at my hospital. I'm really hoping that my suggestions are put into practice.
