vindication and worry

The latest bane of my work-a-day existence has ceased to be employed by WVMC. Unfortunatley, her termination means I will never find out what happened to a kitten named Kylo that she was fostering.

After the fire, while I was at the other hospital, volunteers were asked for to foster our stray kittens. Aileen offered to foster 7 kittens; Kylo and a litter of six. Shortly after I found out she had given the litter of six to one of our kennel staff. They were returned to the hospital last week. Kylo was not.

As of last Friday Kylo still hadn't been returned and she was claiming that her boyfriend had "boarded" him at a shelter in Philladelphiea on Thursday when she called out of work sick. She was told to pick up the kitten and return him to WVMC.

I worked Saturday, as did she, and she did not return the kitten. I arranged with the head of human resources and our manager for her to change her shift on Monday from 8am-5pm to 12pm-9pm so she could pick up the kitten in the morning an still get her hours. She told me her boyfriend had called the shelter and everything would be ready for him to be picked up on Monday. I told the HR manager and our manager that was the plan.

Yesterday morning I got a call from the busness manager at 10:25am because Aileen had just called her asking what she "was supposed to do about the kitten." I told Rhonda everything and that Aileen was being lazy and sloppy calling her, she knew what she was supposed to do. |hen I got into work I documented all of this and helped identify Aileen on security footage coming into work over an hour and a half late on Saturday.

Aileen never came in yesterday. I believe Kylo is dead and there was no shelter.

As of today she no longer works at WVMC.

I just wish I knew about Kylo's fate.
